An Ancient Healing Art
Qi Gong (气功) is a Chinese healing practice with roots stretching back over 5,000 years — among the oldest healing traditions in the world. Qi Gong harmonizes the whole body by cultivating and restoring the smooth flow of vital life energy — Qi — through the body's energy channels, known as meridians. When Qi flows freely, the body, mind, and spirit come into natural balance and the body's innate healing intelligence is awakened.
Through slow, intentional movement, conscious breathing, and meditative awareness, Qi Gong removes energy blockages, nourishes the organs, calms the nervous system, and restores the body's natural state of wholeness. It works with the body's intelligence rather than against it — gentle enough for those recovering from illness or injury, yet profound enough to create deep and lasting transformation.
Modern research published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and leading universities confirms what practitioners have known for millennia: Qi Gong measurably supports a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
What Qi Gong Can Do For You
Because Qi Gong works at the level of the body's energy system, it can address a remarkably wide range of physical, mental, and emotional concerns — often simultaneously. The following benefits are supported by research from the National Institutes of Health and peer-reviewed clinical studies.
Qi Gong calms the nervous system and quiets mental chatter, helping you fall asleep more easily and wake feeling genuinely rested.
Gentle movement and breathwork increase circulation and release tension, offering natural relief from chronic pain, neck pain, back pain, and musculoskeletal discomfort.
By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, Qi Gong lowers cortisol, reduces anxiety, and restores a deep sense of calm and ease.
Reconnect with your body and the present moment. Qi Gong builds a stable inner foundation that remains steady amid life's demands.
Rather than depleting the body, Qi Gong cultivates and circulates your vital life energy — Qi — leaving you energized and alive.
Research shows Qi Gong improves cognition and memory. Regular practice sharpens focus and creates the mental spaciousness needed for wise decisions.
Qi Gong works directly with the energy of emotions, helping you process and release what no longer serves you with gentleness and compassion.
By harmonizing the body's energy systems, Qi Gong strengthens immune response and supports the body's innate capacity to heal itself.
Multiple studies confirm Qi Gong significantly reduces blood pressure and supports heart health, including for those with chronic heart conditions.
Qi Gong breathing practices improve lung capacity and respiratory function, with documented benefits for COPD, asthma, and post-illness recovery.
Research supports Qi Gong for balance training and fall prevention, with effects comparable to or better than conventional interventions.
Qi Gong is used as a complementary support for cancer recovery, Parkinson's disease, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and other chronic conditions.
About Jane
Jane Huang is a certified Qi Gong practitioner and instructor based in Toronto, Canada, welcoming clients from around the world. Her work is rooted in the conviction that the body carries an innate intelligence and capacity for healing — and that Qi Gong is one of the most elegant ways to access and support that capacity.
Jane brings a warm, grounded, and deeply attentive presence to every session. Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, disrupted sleep, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or simply a desire to feel more alive and centred in your body, she meets you exactly where you are — with curiosity and compassion.
Jane is honoured to lead weekly Qi Gong sessions for City of Toronto employees through the People and Equity Division, and has also led a featured session for the City of Toronto's Mental Health Week. She offers individual and group sessions to clients across Canada and internationally — in-person in Toronto and virtually worldwide.
Jane's practice is rooted in one of the most respected Qi Gong lineages from China. Grand Master Wu achieved the highest Qi Gong title in China, establishing a foundation of classical mastery and integrity.
Master Teresa Yeung expanded this lineage by deepening its healing dimension and incorporating psychic development — transcending the limitations of traditional Qi Gong to address healing at the level of consciousness itself. This lineage brings together ancient wisdom and expanded awareness in a way that is rare and profoundly effective.

I was surprised how such seemingly simple exercises could be deeply moving, if you allow and challenge yourself to really go through the movements with intention. After the session, I felt much greater self-awareness and appreciation — reminded to love and accept myself — as well as more connected to the universe and universal love.

The Healing Journey
Every person's experience is unique. Some feel clearer, more centred, or deeply relieved. Others feel tired — and this is a meaningful sign, not a concern. When the body enters deep rest after a session, it is integrating profound shifts: releasing stored tension, processing emotional energy, and allowing the nervous system to recalibrate. Sleep is not passive — it is when the body does its most important healing work. Often, the process continues to unfold gently in the days that follow.
Jane encourages clients to share how they feel after each session. This open dialogue helps Jane and the client understand what is shifting, and informs how to best proceed in the next session. You are never navigating the process alone.
Throughout the healing journey, Jane supports clients in staying curious and compassionate with themselves. Transformation is not always linear — and meeting yourself with kindness is itself part of the healing.
Your Own Pace, Your Own Path
Some people come for a period of support during a difficult time in their life, and find what they need within a handful of sessions. Others stay with the practice as deeper layers of transformation unfold over months or years. There is no prescribed timeline — only your unique path, met with patience and care.
Weekly Sessions
There is something uniquely powerful about practicing in a group. The collective energy supports each individual, and the shared intention creates a healing field that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Jane leads weekly Qi Gong sessions for City of Toronto employees, and warmly welcomes new participants to her group classes. Sessions are available in-person in Toronto and virtually for participants anywhere in the world. No experience required — only a willingness to show up for yourself.
